What You’ll Do

Vitality Health UK is delighted to offer an exclusive medical elective for outstanding medical students, providing a unique opportunity to explore healthcare from a dynamic business and innovation perspective.


Throughout your placement, you will gain exposure to:

  • Healthcare systems in action — understanding how private health insurance works alongside the NHS to deliver patient care

  • Health technology and wearables — exploring how data, devices, and digital solutions transform prevention and treatment

  • Behavioural science in healthcare — examining how lifestyle incentives can change health outcomes on a population scale

  • Healthcare strategy and innovation — participating in projects addressing access, policy, financing, and sustainability challenges


You will work alongside senior leaders, clinical experts, and multidisciplinary teams, gaining a first-hand understanding of how healthcare innovation is shaped and delivered in a commercial setting.


Please note: This medical elective is an educational opportunity and is not part of Vitality Health UK’s recruitment process for permanent roles.


Eligibility Criteria:

  • Currently in your penultimate or final year of medical school

  • Applying as part of your medical school’s formal elective programme

  • Available for a 7-week placement during [dates to be confirmed, e.g.,

  • Spring/Summer 2026]

  • Achieved a 2:1 or higher in any B.Sc. / BA you have completed

  • Demonstrated excellence in extracurricular activities or leadership roles

  • A genuine interest in healthcare management, innovation, or health policy

  • Be a free member of BIMO at the time of application (a £5 Kohinoor membership will be required following successful onboarding to confirm placement)

  • Be from a BAME or underrepresented background
